Ep 9: Alive With Purpose and Getting Motivated

In the last show I shared with you some of my productivity secrets, but would it surprise you to hear that I often don't feel like getting things done? My goals and my purpose are important to me, but I don't always love all the little steps it takes to get there.  And if you have big dreams I am sure that sometimes you too feel unmotivated to do the work it takes to realize your purpose. However, over the years, I have learned to just expect that when my calendar notification goes off to tell me its time to get down to business, I probably won't feel like it. So when I wake up feeling unmotivated, here is my personal routine to hit the reset button and get things done! Listen to Episode 9 on iTunes here (and while you are there please leave us a rating and review if you would be so kind)

You are in for a treat today.  Let me introduce you to Jeff Carreira. Jeff is a spiritual teacher who has an incredible approach to life and the place of meditation within it. Jeff has also personally been a huge supporter to me during some difficult moments in my life and helped me take something very scary and turn it into a new a beautiful possibility. In this, part one of our talk, Jeff shares his insights on meditation and what he calls "The Practice of No Problem." Having followed his teaching for years I can say that this is one of the most powerful and accessible forms of meditation out there. AWP Ep 5: Self-Care

This morning I had the house and a nice expanse of time to myself. So I got on my yoga mat, found an opening pose and was hit with a big, overwhelming pile of "should's" and "to-do's". As a parent of two young children and an entrepreneur it is not always easy to carve out self-care time and often when I do, I feel distracted by all of my responsibilities or guilty that I might be missing something important.

Ep 4: Alive With Purpose and Being a Parent

In this episode I am joined by my favourite person over the age of 3, my husband, Steve. Steve works for an amazing company that has been supportive of him taking a 3 month parental leave to stay home and look after our kids. It is an experience not many people get to have, especially men.  Today we are talking about his experience going from an intellectually stimulating work environment to spending all his time with our two young children. If you are a parent or thinking of becoming one, you need to hear this episode as we explore the both the challenges and the spiritual richness that comes with being a parent. Ep 3: Stressful Days

I stuck my nose where it (kind of) didn't belong and generated a whole bunch of stress for me and one of my Aquin Yoga team members. Even after we sorted everything out, I was left feeling totally off.  Unfocused, checked out, agitated  Rather than sit with it any longer, I recorded a podcast for you to not only help me work it out, but to share with you my realtime reckoning with feelings of stress. Listen to Episode 3 on iTunes  And please share how you deal with stressful days in the comments below.

Ep: 2 Extreme Self-Care

Self-care is something EVERYONE is talking about right now. But to be honest, I think most people are approaching it the wrong way. When we were in Maui last month, my friend Jody Mountain said to me that self-care is important because "we are each the source of our lives."  I have to agree and yet, I know that as a parent with young kids, an entrepreneur and a spiritual seeker it is hard to keep everything rolling and take time for myself. If you feel the same way... Listen to Episode 2 on iTunes  You can share your self-care support tools in the comments below. I want to hear what you are up to!
