Ep 4: Alive With Purpose and Being a Parent

In this episode I am joined by my favourite person over the age of 3, my husband, Steve. Steve works for an amazing company that has been supportive of him taking a 3 month parental leave to stay home and look after our kids. It is an experience not many people get to have, especially men.  Today we are talking about his experience going from an intellectually stimulating work environment to spending all his time with our two young children. If you are a parent or thinking of becoming one, you need to hear this episode as we explore the both the challenges and the spiritual richness that comes with being a parent. AND you can leave any ideas or questions you have in the comments below and Steve or I will share any help we can. Ep 3: Stressful Days

I stuck my nose where it (kind of) didn't belong and generated a whole bunch of stress for me and one of my Aquin Yoga team members. Even after we sorted everything out, I was left feeling totally off.  Unfocused, checked out, agitated  Rather than sit with it any longer, I recorded a podcast for you to not only help me work it out, but to share with you my realtime reckoning with feelings of stress. Listen to Episode 3 on iTunes  And please share how you deal with stressful days in the comments below.

Ep: 2 Extreme Self-Care

Self-care is something EVERYONE is talking about right now. But to be honest, I think most people are approaching it the wrong way. When we were in Maui last month, my friend Jody Mountain said to me that self-care is important because "we are each the source of our lives."  I have to agree and yet, I know that as a parent with young kids, an entrepreneur and a spiritual seeker it is hard to keep everything rolling and take time for myself. If you feel the same way... Listen to Episode 2 on iTunes  You can share your self-care support tools in the comments below. I want to hear what you are up to!

Ep: 1 Alive With Purpose

Welcome to Spring and to my brand new podcast! This is the first of many big announcements coming up and I am thrilled to finally be able to share this one with you. While I really love all the work we did in the Elemental Yin Yang Podcast, I wanted to open up a deeper exploration of what it means to live a spiritual life and still be participating fully in our very busy world. Navigating parenthood, a career, relationships of all kind and trying to keep up with the speed of life can sometimes feel like it is distracting you from your deeper purpose.  My intention for this podcast is to explore the realities of that challenge and be in conversation with you about how we can keep our purpose at the forefront without checking out of all the other important parts of life. So welcome to episode one.  Listen to it on iTunes by clicking here

Episode 18: Self-Care Strategies

This past weekend I spent time with the soon to be graduates from my Elemental Yin Yang Teacher Training. This amazing group of women has worked very hard during our program together and it was no coincidence that this weekend we talked about the importance of self-care among other things. *UPDATED: Join me for a deep dive into your self-care beginning in January.Get the details on my brand new Extreme Self-Care Course here*  One thing I noticed is that while this Earth type of support is something most of us know about intellectually, few of us are taking it seriously or doing it well, especially in the help and wellness professions. In this episode I share some of the features of Earth energy, namely the themes of integrity, devotion and the traps for people who have Earth as their element of primary influence. Then I give you some very practical suggestions about how to incorporate more conscious and supportive self-care into your weekly routine (and what happened to me when I neglected it). Listen on Itunes here Listen on Soundcloud here Episode extras: 1. If you want to explore these themes more deeply check out my book Elemental Yin Yang Yoga 2. Listen to an interview I did on The Connected Yoga Teacher about burn out and get my resources to help you avoid it.

Episode 17: Rekindle Inspiration When You Are In A Rut

I love my life. I feel truly grateful for the abundance I am swimming in and the work I get to do from being a mother to working with incredible yogis and teachers.  However, I am not immune from having days when I feel down, burned out or just stuck in a rut. Recently, I found myself in one of those phases. Several mornings in a row, I woke up exhausted and wondered if I would get anything substantial accomplished. It didn't feel good. But after waiting for my mood to shift on its own for a few days, I remembered, "Hey, I have all these incredible tools I share with other people, why not use a few of those bad boys on my own life?" What a concept, right?
